RECRUITMENT FOR THE POST OF
CONSTABLE (GENERAL DUTY)
Applications are invited from male Indian citizens, resident of the following States for filling up of vacancies for the year 2009 on temporary basis likely to be permanent, shown against each State for the post of Constable (General Duty) Group ‘C’ in the Indo Tibetan Border Police Force. The post has all India liability and selected candidates can be posted anywhere in India and even abroad. On appointment, the candidate shall be governed by the ITBPF Act and Rules. The last date of receipt of applicationis 27th October 2009 for all States except for Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of Jammu and Kashmir State, Lahaul-Spiti District and Pangi Sub-Division of Chamba District of HP, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep for which last date is 03rd November 2009.
2. PAY SCALE AND OTHER ALLOWANCES: -
a) Pay Scale - Rs. 5200 – 20200 + Grade Pay Rs. 2,000/- per month.
b) Other allowances: The post will carry Dearness Allowance, Ration Money, Washing Allowance as admissible from time to time, Special Compensatory Allowance while posted in specified border areas, free uniform, free accommodation or HRA, Transport Allowance, Free leave pass and any other allowance as admissible in the Force from time to time under the rules/instructions. They will be covered under new restructured defined contributory pension scheme.
3. A candidate appearing for the test should mention/intimate if any criminal case(s) is/are pending/lodged against him in any police station/Hon’ble court.
ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS:
(i) AGE: – Between 18 to 23 Years (Cut off date for age will be 01 August 2009).
Note:-
(a) Upper age limit is relaxable for SC/ST by 5 years and for OBC by 3 years.
(b) Ex-Servicemen being trained soldier, only written test and Medical fitness test to ascertain Medical category will be conducted. As per Govt. orders relaxation in prescribed physical standard and Education is admissible. Relaxation of upper age limit to the extent of military service plus 3 years is applicable. No PET is required to be qualified by an Ex-serviceman.
(c) Upper age limit is relaxable upto 5 years to the children and dependent family members of those killed in 1984 riots and riots of 2002 in Gujarat. SC/ST/OBC relexation as per Govt. instructions will be in addition. Children and dependent family member should produce a certificate to that effect from the Collector of the concerned District where the victim was killed.
(d) Upper age limit is relaxable upto 5 years to all persons who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 01st day of January 1980 to 31st day of December 1989.
(e) Upper age limit is relaxable upto 5 years for Govt. servant in accordance with the instructions issued by the Central Govt. Persons serving in Govt./semi govt. department may send their applications through proper channel alongwith “No Objection Certificate” as per format in Annexure-I.
(ii) EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: – Matriculation or 10th Class pass from a recognized Board/ University/National Open School (National Institute of Open School).
HOW TO APPLY AND BY WHICH DATE:-
Eligible and interested candidates should send their Applications (duly filled in Hindi or English only) complete in all respects and Candidate’s Admit Card duly filled in, in the prescribed proforma as per Annexure ‘I’ and Annexure ‘II’ either by type written or neatly hand written on one side only on full size plain paper with passport size photographs affixing on application duly attested by Gazetted Officer along with application fee, enclosures as in para-8 to the authority mentioned above in Col. 9 of para-4, on or before the prescribed last date i.e. 27th October 2009 for all States except for Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of Jammu and Kashmir State, Lahaul-Spiti District and Pangi Sub-Division of Chamba District of HP, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep for which last date is 3rd November 2009.
7. APPLICATION FEE: Application Fee will be Rs. 50/- for candidates belonging to General and OBC category only and no fee will be charged from SC/ST and Ex-Servicemen. The candidates should attach the Indian Postal Order or Crossed Bank Draft drawn in the name of authorities mentioned in Col. 9 of Para-4 above i.e. to whom theapplication is submitted.
ENCLOSURES REQUIRED TO BE ATTACHED WITH APPLICATION :-
As per the new scheme, only following are required to be attached with theapplication form.
(a) Two latest passport size photographs (one pasted on application form and another on admit card duly attested).
(b) IPO/Bank Draft of Rs.50/- (for General and OBC Candidates only).
(c) Two self addressed envelopes of 4”X9” size with Rs. 5/- postage stamps affixed on each envelope.
(d) Envelope containing Application must be superscribed in bold letters “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF CONSTABLE (GD) IN ITBP”
9. DOCUMENTS/CERTIFICATE REQUIRED TO BE BROUGHT AT THE TIME OF RECRUITMENT TEST:-
(a) Original certificate alongwith attested copies of following Certificates:-
(i) Educational Certificate.
(ii) Date of birth certificate (Matriculation or 10th Class certificate or certificate issued by National Open School /National Institute of Open School as proof of date of birth.)
(iii) Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/OBC Certificate (if belonging to any of these categories) issued by an authority not lower than Tehsildar or SDM. Note:- OBC certificate must be in prescribed proforma as attached at annexure –‘IV’.
(iv) Domicile Certificate issued by local revenue authorities for verification of citizenship / for claiming relaxation in height and chest.
(v) Discharge certificate for Ex-Servicemen.
